SWAT Incident Closes Union Street For Over Two Hours
Updated: Mar 15, 2022
Manchester Police closed off Union Street between Brook Street and Harrison Street Tuesday for a person who refused to come out of a multi-unit building.
The MPD call log indicated that police responded to a Union Street address at about 3:41 p.m. for a reported argument.
Police surrounded the house and evacuated people from two floors of the building including a woman from the area where a man refused to come out.
MPD SWAT arrived with the Bearcat and set up in the alley while officers kept the building surrounded from all sides. One person wearing an ATF vest was at the scene, however, it appeared to be a Manchester Police operation.
Just before 6:00 p.m., a man was handcuffed and placed on a stretcher. The man was transported by AMR ambulance from the scene with a MPD officer riding in the back of the ambulance.
The scene began to clear immediately after the man was removed.
Manchester Information will update this post if additional information is released.
