ShotSpotter Activation Results in One Arrest

On November 20, 2023, at approximately 11:00 PM, Manchester Police responded to the area of Second and Walker Streets for a ShotSpotter activation.

Arriving officers saw a male in the area, but as they tried to speak to him, he ran. A brief foot pursuit ensued and officers were quickly able to take the man into custody. They also found shell casings in the area.

Police identified the male as Hakeem Shepherd, 35 of Manchester. Through the investigation, police learned that Shepherd had been involved in an argument with a female and during the course of the argument fired a gun into the air several times.

Shepherd was arrested and charged with Reckless Conduct-Deadly Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Drug, and Resisting Arrest.
