National Drug Take Back Day
Updated: May 8, 2023
The bi-annual National Drug Take Back Day will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The drop off locations in Manchester will be at the Manchester Police Department (visitor lot) at 405 Valley Street and Elliot at River’s Edge at 175 Queen City Ave.
The United States Drug Enforcement Administration, Diversion Control Program coordinates the program so people can properly dispose of prescription medication.
Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue. They can lead to accidental poisoning, overdoses, and abuse. Our goal is to have every citizen turn in their unused, expired or unwanted prescription medications, so they can be safely discarded.
The DEA will accept pills and patches but cannot accept liquids, needles, or sharps. Vaping devices and cartridges will also be accepted. However, the DEA cannot accept devices with lithium batteries.
