Molotov Cocktails And Baseball Bat Cause Damage On Westside

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police responded to the area of Granite and West streets on Monday for a report that a man was damaging vehicles with a baseball bat.

Witnesses told police they heard multiple loud bangs coming from the street and when they looked outside, they saw the back of a car smashed and someone walking away. Surveillance video also captured the same suspect hitting another parked car multiple times with a baseball bat.

Monday’s incident was the third time in recent days that police were called to this area for similar issues. On Sunday, at about 6:30 p.m., police responded to Granite Street for a report of a Molotov cocktail being thrown into the driveway.

The caller on Sunday told police that they returned home and found broken glass fragments in the driveway. They looked at their surveillance video and saw what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail thrown from the east side of the building. Police inspected the glass, a bottle stopper, and wick located in the driveway and it appeared consistent with a Molotov cocktail.

The caller told police this has been an ongoing issue and last week two Molotov cocktails were thrown at their vehicles.

Through the investigation, police were able to identify Aladin Muminovic, 35, of Manchester as a suspect. He was arrested and charged with three counts of felony use of a Molotov cocktail, one felony count of criminal mischief, and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

Muminovic, was ordered held on preventative detention after a judge met the burden showing he was a clear danger to society or himself.
